Billy's roots can be traced directly to the influence of his Greek parents Pete and Georgia Kounoupis.
They gave up everything in their homeland of Sparta Greece to come to America with nothing more than the love of freedom and I belief in the entrepreneurial spirit. They taught Billy fundamental values that life is not only about business success but about the importance of dedication to the community. Upon graduation from Easton high school, in the appeal of the following in his father's footsteps, Billy's focus was to be a culinary creator like his father. He dropped out of college in his third year and focused on pursuing his entrepreneurial dream. Billy's focus has been to change the standard of The classic American diner to a whole new level. "Not your ordinary diner" is his mantra. Gone are the omnipresent stainless steel buildings, the gazillion menu items on oversized menus, and other symbols of an era long past.
Billy and his wife Yanna instead focused on creating the boutique diners. Billy is still active in his restaurants and lectures in schools and universities as well mentoring and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. His businesses have been mentioned frequently in national and local newspapers and magazines.
